more about Jane Ganz

“Serving my clients is more important than making money,” says Jane. “I would rather lose money for the short term and get it right for my clients for the long term. “Getting it right the first time for my clients means they will come back.” For over 41 years they have been coming back due to the high standards Jane has set for herself and her employees. As a high school freshman, Jane was assigned to write a term paper on a career. She interviewed the highly successful interior designer Don Pisoni and was so inspired she pledged to make interior design her career. Don became her mentor and proof that you can continue your love of art, improve peoples’ lives, and make an honest living doing what you love. Many years later, when Don was wanting to slow down a bit, Jane offered him a job to help her mentor new staff members.

Before starting her own business, Jane worked for a commercial design firm and also taught interior design at Washington University. But something was missing, she wanted to control her own destiny. Could she walk away from a steady job? She knew she had the strength to start her own firm, but would others accept a young woman entrepreneur? Jane impressed one home builder so much, he allowed her to set up a card table and chairs in the garage of his display home. Maybe she could convince possible buyers to look at the real potential of the little tract homes. She endured many days in that garage that was either freezing or sweltering hot. Her plan was such a great success, that the builder installed heat and air conditioning in her garage office. Within two years Jane had over 100 furnished display homes open in the St. Louis area which won scores of “Homer Awards”.
